Default 100K + Items

For the first time I've got over 100k in my sticky mitts and now I want to spend, spend, SPEND!
That said, ideally I want to buy something that will keep it's value so which of the prestige items should I look at? Things like elemental swords, or maybe something from the realm of torment? I haven't really played GWEN much yet, so maybe the weapons from that would be a good bet.
Can anyone help me? In terms of rarity and perhaps holding of value, what should I buy? I have 6 level 20s that between them can use any type of weapon, shield or focus so that isn't an issue.
Any advice would be welcomed.

Not tyring to probe or anything but how did you get 100K?

And Charity gives you something more lasting than an in-game item... you get personal satisfaction!!! LOL
J/K DON'T give it a way, I'm assuming you worked hard for it!

Finally a real suggestion...
Find a Bone Dragon... they are just a bit over 100K and I haven't seen that price change EVER.

100k = 20 ectos.

Power trading = 200+ ectos per week end even some are making at this particular moment 1000 ectos profit outa one mini pet trade ( dont ask me wny pls i beg )

So 100k is just pocket change for alot in here.

As for Bone its 70-90k now. If you pay more then 90k its too high.

to get back on topic :P

i'd get either nice armor for your fav character or a torment/destroyer weapon. if you really want a weapon that'll pay off good in the end a destroyer would probably be it since they're the only weapons you can add to your HoM and get a bonus for in gw2.

Destroyer weapons set are meh! to me at best, but they're the only weapon sets that you can put on HOM for now. Torment sets are better looking but you'll need to save up more.

Things is...the real gift you could make yourlsef.....

Keep that money you f00l. Then now...buy a couple ectos..keep that $$ and buy a low weapon / items what ever that cost ectos + 100k...sell back higher make ectos profit.

Repeat till you make a big party since you got your first ectos stack.

Set new goals like having 10 stacks. Then after, look at yourself...Grotto Prophetie armor ELE black dyed with Destroyer guntlets..no FoW armor....10+ stacks of those gellys...and....ho wait.....that me here, not you.

Ho well.......thats what you should do m8.

If you want something that will retain its value, then I'd avoid all mini-pets and inscription items. Inscription items will only depreciate now and min-pets are too unstable. The one's that will retain their value are far too expensive for your current pot.

There seems to be a few exceptions:

Torment weapons. Less people spamming the DoA - so value is set for now - and most players hold them in high regard if you want something to flash about.

Stygian Reavers and inscription Magmas Shields and Crystaline Swords seem to be stable enough for the time being.

Of course if you want something truly cool you could save your plats until you can afford a nice req8 collectable. If you get yourself a desired/rare skin it should retain its value well (at least while req8s continue to remain such a rare find IG).

You could always save a little while longer and buy into the req7 craze, that'll guarantee you an even longer standing and stable investment.

Or...

learn the market and invest your money for a few months until you have crazy ectos and buy yourself something truly stupid, that's always fun

If the servers were still seperate you could do what I did. You can still try something like this, im not sure how the servers work now.

Go to euro servers (when america had all the favor) and sell ectos that you've bought on american servers. The price was at least a plat higher, so there was good profit to be made.

DONT SPEND IT!

Everything except a very few elite items in game loose value. The rarest of mini's are the exception.

Did I say... DON'T SPEND IT!

The next 100K is easier.

Good point, Psychology.
I've found that you tend to lose money while 'learning the market' as you buy something that looks really good to you but is utter rubbish to anyone else.

Also, out of interest, Req 8 weapons seem to be here and there and I believe max damage Req 7s are out there as well. Are there any Req 6s?

Well never actually having 100k myself in 2 years of playing
I would suggest stock up on all your materials tabs but maybe not Onxy stones
there a bit over the top at teh moment I think.
Mini's always lose value and as more of the rarer ones start to be released in competitions and such they too will lose value over time.
But it's your choice and in reality it's still Anet's money not yours
they can take it all back maybe sometime in the future
IF and i mean IF GW1 shuts down for any reason.
Just enjoy it now.

gore bro, if you're making 200 ectos a week lemme know how.

as for items that keep their rarity/price, there isn't many. everything depreciates over a time, so just buy what you like

First off you can always go to LA dis 1 and just watch see what things go for and how fast they sell, this may help you decide on where you would like to invest.
You can get ectos they always hold a good value in a trade (the price often varies but thats ok just sell them when the market is up).
Unidentified Items are a great way to waist some cash not only can you get some very nice weapons from it but alot of times you get good mods you can salvage and re sell to make more back then what you paid, And this helps you wisdom title..
If you want to invest in a ITEM that can be resold I would go for a sword like elementel crystalline or one of the classics Fellblade Gothic sword legendary sword, swords are some of the highest selling items on the market and they move fast so investing in somthing else is a waist of time imo. like lets say you got a nice 100k staff its great and all but selling it might not be as easy or fast as a sword..sadly in the unbalanced world of GW swords rain king.
You can buy gear BUT i WOULD NOT recomend it because unlike other items you cant re sell your gear.. it nice to have (i got a few sets my self) but its just a money sink hole unless your fairly wealthy its a bad place to start.
GL happy buying
